ARTIST STATEMENT:
Cerberus is unlike most chamber music experiences.
Every concert is unique as we create the program on-the-spot.
The result is high-energy, quirky, and sometimes humorous.
We often have guest performers. For instance, at a recent Cerberus concert,
where the piece was an hour long, we added improvisers Dani Reynolds,
Laura Goddard, and The Architects - a troupe of improvising dancers.
The trio part of Cerberus boasts a combined total of over seventy years of
national and international professional experience in a huge range of styles.
Two improvising classical players (horn and tuba) join forces with a jazz
trumpeter (and three big bags of assorted percussion) to create off-the-wall
never-before never-again concatenation of sounds that is by turns melodious,
strident, dramatic,sonorous and mischievous.
